Conemaugh Physician Group is seeking a full-time Medical Office Assistant for CPG Pulmonology in Johnstown, PA. The MOA is responsible for performing a variety of clinical/secretarial and general office duties to support department operations.  Under the direction of the Practice Manager, functions in implementing the established plan of care.  Provides care specific to ages and developmental needs of all patients.

Essential Responsibilities:
Answer phones in courteous and appropriate manner in accordance with hospital policy.
Maintain competency in electronic medical record including insurance verification, appointment scheduling, registration, collection of copays and end of day process.
Scheduling outpatient procedures for physicians according to protocol. 
Responsible for asking screening questions, verifying demographic/insurance information, and appropriately scheduling in EPIC program.
Also responsible for sending patient their information packet for procedures.
Maintaining recall list.
Monitor physician schedules in electronic medical record, monitor for appropriate scheduling, cancellations, etc.
Send tasks if applicable to either Physicians or Clinical staff.
Responsible for sending out forms either by mail or fax and responsible for collecting fee for form completion.
Scan paperwork that needs placed in the patients EMR including outside labs, testing, forms, etc.
Complete all office tasks each day before close of business.
Assist with incoming mail and sorting mail to appropriate staff. Same for incoming faxes.
Assist in obtaining release of medical record form if outside records are needed. 
Responsible for scanning outside records into electronic medical record.
Assist with other front office staff as needed.
Rooms patient for their office appointment, collects needed information as directed by physician.
Obtains vital signs prior to patient being seen by physician.
Assists physician with exam.
Attends assigned and/or scheduled in-service education meetings and staff meetings.
Obtains required prior authorizations for outpatient testing.
Reviews patient charts prior to office visit to assure needed medical information is available.                                                                                                     

Job Qualifications:
Education:

Required: Graduate of a Medical Office Assistant Program or CNA program or appropriate on the job training in a medical office setting.
Experience:
Required:
Individual must have strong clinical skills, be proficient with medical terminology. 
Excellent typing and computer skills.

Certification/Licensure/Registration: 
Preferred: Medical Assistant Certification.
