Position Summary: 

Performs pre-admission, admission and continued stay reviews to assure appropriate status documentation and registration. Substantiates medical necessity and intensity of service based on industry standard criteria and assures appropriate resource utilization throughout the hospital course. Proactively functions as the primary communication regarding medical necessity issues with physicians, patients and families, third party payers and all other allied health professionals based on medical necessity criteria. Refers appropriate cases to Behavioral Medicine Psychiatrist for medical management intervention. 


Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Diploma, Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing 

  • Current PA Registered Nurse License to practice nursing in the Commonwealth of PA required 

  • One year experience as a Psychiatric RN or Experience with Case Management 

  • Clinical Nursing experience in Behavioral Medicine preferred 

  • Behavioral Medicine Case Management experience preferred
