Essential Functions

  • Distribution of materials
  • Fill requisitions placed by end-users from the MMIS system in priority order
  • .Answer calls from end user in a timely manner ensuring customers receive their supplies as needed giving proper attention to “STAT” requests for materials
  • Accurately deliver stock and non-stock supplies to proper end user departments.
  • When inventorying, or stocking rotate stock, check for outdated supplies and remove any outdated supplies from shelves and dispose of physically, and make appropriate entries in MMIS.
  • Assist buyers in determining and maintaining par levels for the perpetual inventory.
  • Work with PAR departments to determine and maintain par levels in designated areas, and make appropriate adjustments as needed.
  • Advises departmental staff as required to on shortages, overages, excessive inventory, and any other problems which could affect the service level of the departments serviced
  • .Examine supplies for damage and defects and take appropriate action.
  • Process credits from departments the same day they are received.
  • Be proficient in the safe use of the electric pallet jack and the electric forklift.
  • Utilize the MMIS to enter all charges, credits, adjustments, and other data editing as required.
  • Perform cycle counts and physical inventory as directed.
  • Face shelves daily – breaking supplies out of cardboard boxes readying the empty boxes for recycling, adjusting space shelf space for required for items, cleaning shelves monthly and removing cardboard from work area daily.
  • Processes and routes mail, applies postage, distribution of fedex and UPS special orders as needed
  • .Picks up mail for Auburn and Southridge campus as scheduled.
  • Conducts self in a professional and consistent manner including treating and communicating with vendors, manufacturers, physicians, customers and departmental staff with the respect, caring and consideration. Practice and promote ethical and professional vendor and business relationships; remaining free from any obligations to any supplier, vendor or manufacturer.
  • Receives incoming supplies and equipment.
  • Accept, receive, inspect and count all materials delivered to the hospital.
  • Inspect all materials for obvious damage and properly note exceptions.
  • Compare information on packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment.
  • Pull packing slip from shipment and match to Purchase Order. Record quantity of items, date received, and note any shortages or overages.
  • Respond to RUSH items and refrigerate or deliver immediately as required.
  • Deliver all medical equipment to Clinical Engineering for safety check.
  • Scan and file all receiving documents daily.
  • Maintain in-house delivery route schedule and exterior shipping.
  • Maintain routine deliveries and standing orders to hospital departments.
  • Coordinate items for shipment by commercial conveyance.
  • Prepare bills of lading and/or shipping documents.
  • Crate and prepare items for shipment as directed.
  • Maintain appropriate paperwork for all shipped items.
  • Attach packing slip to Purchase Order and deliver to appropriate location.
  • Deliver appropriate slips to Accounting.
  • Maintain assigned work areas clean, efficient and safe manner to include loading dock and delivery areas.
  • Remove and dispose of all packing materials, boxes, etc.
  • Clean receiving area daily.
  • Maintain department supplies and work area.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
  • Respond to emergency deliveries when requested.
  • Assist co-workers as requested.
  • Assist in the orientation and training of new employees.
  • Assists with surplus sale as requested
  • Attend in-services and training sessions.
  • Attend department meetings as required.
  • Sort incoming hospital mail from the Post Office.
  • Monitor incoming medical surplus items and insure that the asset disposition form is filled out and attached.

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
