Pharmacy Tech/Pharmacy/Full-Time/Variable Shifts/10 Hours

Salary Range: $21.05-$31.91

Essential Functions 

  • Under Pharmacist supervision, fills Omnicell dispensing machines with accuracy rating of 99%.Prepares IV admixtures and Chemotherapy medications. Correct aseptic technique will be monitored by the recertification program.
  • Participates in hospital wide nursing unit inspection program. Monthly floor checks will be completed on time.
  • Distribution of pharmaceuticals via Omnicell twice daily and as needed. Hourly floor runs will be made within 10 minutes of the hour, not more than 2% missed per month.
  • Processes purchase orders and wholesaler order confirmation invoicing with 98% accuracy.
  • Processes floor stock orders. Floor stock orders will be processed on the day of receipt.
  • Enters floor stock charges from all nursing units, anesthesia charge sheet, narcotic billing, and anesthesia narcotic box charges in computer, both inpatient and outpatient.
  • Accuracy should be within 99%.
  • Enters medication orders into computer with accuracy rate of 98%.
  • Does unit dose packaging and maintains log. Error rate will be less than 1%.Enter IV orders into compute as time permits.
  • Accuracy rate will be greater than 99%.
  • Updates IV hang times in computer with an accuracy rate of 95%.
  • When Technician B is not available, does all of Level B’s duties. See job description of Level B and standards.
  • Stocks IVs in IV room, floor units, ER, OR, RR. Maintains inventory levels of par levels as assigned.
  • If certified to check other technicians in unit dose cassette fill or IV unit dose syringe fill, must maintain accuracy rating of 99.5% or better.
  • Proficiency in syringe batching and documentation with error rating of less than 2%. 
  •  Fills medication carts on a daily basis.
  • Prepares orders and maintains inventory for the pharmacy department.
  • Repackages bulk medications.

Qualifications and requirements 

  • High School Diploma - Required 
  • Associates degree- Preferred
