How you'll contribute
A Laboratory Assistant who excels in this role:
Labels, processes, and delivers specimens for testing.
Collects and processes human samples according to specimen collection and processing protocols.
Maintains equipment and appropriate inventory of medical supplies.
Stocks/organizes supplies and phlebotomy baskets and collection stations for specimen procurement.
Verifies patient and specimen identification with two identifiers before performing any procedure.

What we're looking for
Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent
Additional requirements include:
Prior phlebotomy training and minimum of one (1) year phlebotomy experience Preferred
Heartsaver CPR American Heart Association (Must retain 30 days after being Hired)
PBT (ASCP or ASPT) or equivalent obtained within two years of employment, preferred.
Completes on-the-job (OTJ) training for CLA duties.
Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Ability to perform routine venipuncture and skin puncture.
