Position Summary:

Reports to: Director of Information Services and Technologies 

FLSA: Exempt 

Serves as the primary onsite IT resource for implementing, supporting, and managing medical imaging applications at Havasu Regional Medical Center. Ensures seamless system design, interface functionality, and clinical process coordination. Provides first-level support for PACS, Novarad PACS, and technical medical imaging interfaces, as well as second-level support as a local subject matter expert to resolve incidents and fulfill user requests.

Minimum Requirements:

Education:

  • Associate degree in related field required, Bachelor's preferred.  5+ years of intensive PACS administration experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Healthcare PACS Level 1 Certification required within one year of hire

Required Skills:

  • Strong critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independently
  • Ability to perform effectively in a high-pressure environment and take appropriate action
  • In-depth understanding of medical imaging operations and processes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with clinical and IT personnel
  • Advanced computer proficiency

Required Work Experience:

At least three years of experience managing PACS systems required, with expertise in voice recognition, DICOM, and modality operations. Strong background in workflow knowledge and assessment is essential. Previous IT and PACS experience in an imaging or hospital setting is preferred.

Essential Functions:

  • Serve as the primary onsite and offsite resource for the implementation and support of medical imaging applications
  • Administer and support PACS, HMS and technical medical imaging interfaces related to technologies
  • Provides second-level support as a local medical imaging subject matter expert, resolving incidents and fulfilling requests from multiple facilities
  • Collaborate with enterprise subject matter experts, service resources, and the enterprise Help Desk to manage the resolution of medical imaging application incidents and requests
  • Ensure the coordination and effective functioning of medical imaging system design, interface functionality, and clinical processes
  • Provide input on policies, procedures, and training related to medical imaging applications and processes
  • Collaborate with the Imaging Team to identify and implement best practices for medical imaging applications.
  • Collaborate with the Imaging Team to promote and implement division-wide standardization, utilization, integration, and optimization plans for medical imaging processes
  • Review and provide input on Information Security plans related to medical imaging applications
  • Provide input on roles and access for medical imaging applications to ensure compliance with HIPAA requirements
  • Participate in testing and implementing clinical applications that integrate medical imaging applications with other clinical systems.
  • Collaborate with the IS Director as a subject matter expert on medical imaging applications to ensure physicians and medical staff can access images at hospitals and offices
  • Diagnose, resolve, and close customer issues within service level guidelines, escalating to higher-level technical support or management when necessary
  • Document and report customer inquiries related to new or different functionality.
  • The Market PACS Administrator will oversee Lifepoint facilities across a geographic zone in Mohave County, as needed, at the discretion of the Information Systems Director
  • Provide on-call assistance as needed
  • Manage backup and recovery processes using Evault
  • Perform user administration tasks (Active Directory, VPN) and manage VMware ESXi environments
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned
