Position Summary

The Mental Health Provider position at the Memorial Weight Loss Center will be responsible to engage in short term individual therapy with clients to assist them in trying to improve their physical health and emotional well being. The mental health provider will receive referrals from the Memorial Weight Loss Center psychologist for follow up therapy before and/or after bariatric surgery.  The Mental Health Provider will also be responsible to run at least two support groups each month for on-going patient care.  The Psychologist at the Memorial Weight Loss Center will provide weekly supervision for the incoming mental health provider.

The Mental Health Provider at the Memorial Weight Loss Center is expected to collaborate with the multi-disciplinary provider team that consists of: one psychologist,  two bariatric surgeons, and  two DNP nurses,  in order to achieve best patient outcomes and to continue to enhance the Weight Loss, Wellness, and Heartburn programs within the organization.


Minimum Qualifications

    • Minimum Education:  Graduate degree from an accredited university program in Counseling.   
    • Minimum Experience:  One year experience as a Mental Health Counselor required.  
    • Licensure:  Current New Mexico LPC/C or LMHC license required.
