Lead Certified Pharmacy Tech
Schedule: this is a full-time role. Our Pharmacy Techs work 8 am to approximately 4 pm Monday through Friday. This role could include rotating weekends and those shifts run from 8 am to 2 pm.

How you'll contribute
A Lead Certified Pharmacy Tech who excels in this role provides distributive pharmacy services, assistance and support for the registered pharmacist. Additionally, they will:
Fill and maintain automated dispensing systems.
Act as the primary trainer for new pharmacy technicians and interns and as the primary resource for new department procedures, onboarding, and cross-training. Interview and assist with hiring of pharmacy team members, and also coordinate, facilitate, and monitor training of new pharmacy technicians.
Create work schedules for the technicians, develop and delegate workflow, assisting technicians in daily duties, and staff any pharmacy technician position as needed. Assist management in complying with all laws, regulations, and guidelines set forth by any regulatory agency, including but not limited to the NM Board of Pharmacy, DEA, FDA, TJC, EPA, etc.
Perform controlled substance inventories under the direction of the director; report all discrepancies and findings. Oversee pharmacy technician controlled substance duties.
Maintain, inspect, and update crash carts, all specialized pharmacy medication boxes and trays. Ensure medications, IVs, and all other supplies are stored under proper conditions and are labeled properly. Responsible for oversight of pharmacy automation including automated dispensing machines.
Assist management in overseeing sterile and non-sterile compounding, including hazardous medications and chemotherapy, all under the direction of a pharmacist.
Prepare orders and maintain inventory for the pharmacy department. Analyze Par vs Usage data and recommend changes to the Director to optimize inventory. Review and stock incoming deliveries of medication and supplies. Receive, unpack, and check quantities against invoices.
Represent the pharmacy department on hospital committees as delegated by the Director.

What we're looking for
Registered Pharmacy Technician by the New Mexico Board of Pharmacy upon hire. Certified as a CPhT by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) upon hire.
Sterile IV Compounding certified andchemotherapy certified upon hire or transfer.
