Our urology clinic provides comprehensive outpatient care for patients across adolescent, young adult, middle adult, and older adult populations. The team includes Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), and clinical support staff who work collaboratively to ensure efficient patient flow, timely access to testing and procedures, and high‑quality patient care.

 

How you'll contribute

A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), who excels in this role:

  • Coordinates patient testing, appointment scheduling, and prior authorizations to ensure timely access to care.
  • Assists MD/NPs in direct patient care including equipment preparation, obtaining/updating medical history, vital signs, height, and weight.
  • Schedules appointments and procedures as ordered by the provider.
  • Manages prescription refills as authorized by the provider.
  • Obtains insurance pre‑authorizations for testing and scheduling.
  • Maintains a clean and safe environment for patients and visitors.
  • Provides direct patient care within the LPN scope of practice.
  • Takes verbal orders from providers and documents appropriately.
  • May administer oral and parenteral medications (except IV) under physician supervision.
  • Completes all documentation in a timely manner.
  • Oversees appointment booking and prioritizes emergent patient needs.
  • Maintains timely patient flow and assists with exam room preparation, restocking, and cleaning.
  • Performs miscellaneous clinic office duties as needed.

What we're looking for

A compassionate and detail‑oriented LPN with strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple tasks efficiently while providing expert and empathetic patient care.

 

Qualifications and requirements

Applicants should have:

  • Current and valid NC LPN license
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • BLS certification (required or obtained during first week of hire)
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance policies, and prior authorization procedures
  • Proficiency with EMR and scheduling software
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and maintain strict confidentiality
  • 1-2 years of prior clinic experience preferred
