UC Davis Rehabilitation Hospital is a specialized rehabilitation facility affiliated with UC Davis Health, focused on helping patients recover and regain independence after serious illness, injury, surgery, or complex medical conditions. The hospital typically provides comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation services through a multidisciplinary care team that may include physicians, nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, case managers, and other rehabilitation specialists. Its care is designed for patients who need intensive therapy and coordinated medical support following conditions such as stroke, traumatic injury, neurological disorders, orthopedic surgery, or other disabling conditions. As part of the broader UC Davis Health system, the rehabilitation hospital benefits from access to academic medical expertise, evidence-based treatment approaches, and a strong focus on patient-centered recovery. 

How you'll contribute

A LPN who excels in this role:

  • Administer medications safely, accurately, and based on patient age and clinical condition.
  • Minimize potential for medication errors by following proper medication administration procedures.
  • Assist the RN with initial assessments and patient reassessments per policy.
  • Identify and implement appropriate rehabilitation nursing interventions.
  • Perform timely and accurate Quality Improvement (QI) assessments under RN supervision.
  • Deliver care based on patient response to treatment and update the interdisciplinary plan accordingly.
  • Assess and reassess pain; use appropriate pain management techniques and educate patients and families.
  • Perform all patient care tasks in a manner that promotes patient safety and reduces medical errors.
  • Develop and implement individualized teaching plans based on patient and family learning needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

LPN/LVN Hourly range $33.00-46.00 per hour

What we're looking for (LPN)

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse program.
  • Experience: Minimum one year of Medical/Surgical experience in an acute care setting preferred.
  • License: Current state licensure as a Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse.
  • Certifications: CPR/BLS certification required; IV Certification highly preferred or must be obtained within 6 months.
  • Required Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful

UC Davis Rehabilitation Hospital opened in 2023,is a 52-bed inpatient acute rehabilitation hospital located at 4875 Broadway in Sacramento, California and is Sacramento County's first freestanding inpatient physical rehabilitation hospital. The facility spans approximately 58,000 to 58,600 square feet and is located on the UC Davis Health Sacramento campus. UC Davis includes a 12-bed brain injury unit and four private rooms designed for bariatric patients. According to 2025 annual outcomes data, the hospital served 1,001 patients, with an average length of stay of 12.8 days. In 2025, 77.3% of patients were discharged to home or a community setting, and patients averaged 3.06 treatment hours per day.
