How you'll contribute
A Mammography Technician who excels in this role:
- Reviews patient history and physician's orders.
- Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment, and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
- When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within the scope of practice.
- Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
- May assist the physician with performing interventional procedures, including fine needle aspiration and needle localization.

What we're looking for
Graduate of a two-year AMA-approved Radiology Technology School
Additional requirements include:
Graduate of a Program in Radiologic Technology.
Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).
Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
Licensed by the VA Department of Health as a Radiologic Technologist.
One year of experience in performing mammography procedures.
5 CEUs in mammography per year (FDA Requirement)
- 24 CEUs in Radiology per 2 years (ARRT Requirement).
