How you'll contribute:

Under the oversight of Director of Plant Operations, manages daily facilities operations for the hospital, including maintenance of the physical plant, grounds, and equipment; facilities management and engineering; loss prevention; telecommunications; and hospital-wide safety. Establishes and monitors policies, preventive maintenance programs, and documentation to ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations. Serves as Safety Officer and coordinates emergency response and corrective actions.

In this position you will also:

  • Properly hires, orients, trains, evaluates and disciplines housekeeping personnel within established policy.
  • Schedules personnel to ensure proper coverage of the hospital.
  • Serves on the hospital Safety Committee and Hazardous Materials and Waste Subcommittee.
  • Participates in information management, performance improvement and infection control programs.
  • Ensures compliance with CIHQ, federal, state and local regulations and standards.
  • Prepares and submits reports as requested by Administration.
  • Report any malfunctions and maintenance problems. Perform minor repairs such as changing light bulbs as needed.
  • Work with vendors to ensure correct supplies and supply levels as well as services.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree (BA) from four (4) year college or university preferred; or at least two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Utility systems management; hospital operations and Joint Commission/CIHQ preparedness (preferred).
  • Effective English communication (verbal and written); basic computer proficiency; organization, supervision, and problem-solving; ability to balance multiple priorities and make timely decisions.
