Position Summary:

Oversees and maintains a variety of clinical, non-clinical and ancillary services of assigned patient care within the Operating Room specialty units.

Reports to: Director

FLSA:  Exempt

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Supervise and coordinate afternoon OR staff

Coordinates changes to the OR schedule with the anesthesia team and surgeons.

Communicates with the PAR and PACU nursing staff to facilitate improved throughput of patients

Completes patient and family rounding and service recovery as needed

Make adjustments to staffing as needed to account for add on or cancelled cases

Provide patient care as needed to facilitate surgical needs of patients.


Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum Education
Associate’s degree in Nursing
Bachelor's degree in Nursing (preferred)

Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Required Skills
Licenses/ Certifications:
Registered Nurse (RN) in Michigan
Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP)
CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room) (Preferred)

Minimum Work Experience
2 years Perioperative Experience (Preferred)
3 years Leadership Experience (Preferred)
