Position Summary:

Responsible for the testing, implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of desktop operating systems
and applications for the hospital. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Troubleshoots issues with deployed desktop operating system images and applications.
Patches desktop operating systems and applications with vendor software and security updates.
Creates scripts to assist in the deployment and management of hospital computers and applications.
Creates documentation that supports the management of hospital desktop computers such as; PC Image
standards, Imaging installation procedures, Application Installation procedures,
daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual routine maintenance procedures, Standard Operating Procedures and
support procedures.
Application Packaging for deployment.
Deploying applications to desktop computers across the hospital (Large-Scale and Individual installs).
Create, update and maintain standard desktop computer images for hospital computers.
Ensure that desktop computers are meeting required information security requirements.
Run routine reports to determine and communicate the health of the desktop computer environment to
leadership.
Administer, create, update and maintain Group Policy in Windows Active Directory.
Administer and support the hospital server backup system.
Administer and support Single Sign On System.
Patch hospital server operating systems using System Center Configuration Manger.
Manage and configure thin client computers using Dell Wyse Management Console.


Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Education:
Associates Degree in associated field
*Years of relevant experience may be substituted for required education.


Minimum Work Experience:
2 years of relevant experience (Preferred)


Required Skills:
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be
able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Experience performing PC imaging: Planning, building and implementing standard images to large numbers
of computers
Experience testing, packaging, deploying and patching desktop operating systems and applications to large
numbers of computers
Experience with configuring desktop computer hardware
Experience installing, configuring and supporting Microsoft desktop operating systems, specifically Windows
7 and Windows 10
Experience configuring and using Microsoft Group Policy Objects to configure and manage desktop
computers
Able to create technical documentation in support of technical responsibilities


DESIRED SKILLS
Understanding of Microsoft Active Directory and related concepts
Understanding of Microsoft Systems Configuration Manager and its use with managing and supporting
desktop computers

Experience patching Microsoft Windows server operating systems using SCCM
Experience with Imprivata Single Sign On solutions
Experience with enterprise backup solutions used to backup servers


CERTIFICATIONS:
MCDST (Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician) (Preferred
