Our Physician Practices team is committed to providing an efficient and welcoming experience for patients throughout their care journey. As a Medical Office Assistant, you will provide essential front-office and administrative support to patients, providers, and other members of the healthcare team. This role assists with scheduling, patient registration, referrals, pre-certifications, payment collection, and maintaining accurate patient information to help ensure the smooth operation of the practice.
How you'll contribute
A Medical Office Assistant who excels in this role:
- Schedules and registers patients and maintains accurate patient information within the computer system.
- Obtains referrals and pre-certifications as required.
- Schedules referral appointments as necessary or as instructed by the provider.
- Performs administrative and clerical duties including reception, filing, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
- Reviews provider orders prior to the patient leaving the clinic.
- Obtains informed consent for invasive procedures.
- Posts charges, completes required paperwork, and collects co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding account balances.
- Assists with end-of-day balancing and closing procedures, including preparing deposits for courier pickup.
- Maintains examination areas, equipment, and medical supplies, including stocking, cleaning, reordering, and basic troubleshooting.
- Assists with maintaining office supply inventory and appropriate stock levels to support efficient workflow.
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of applicable infection control policies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

What we're looking for
Applicants should possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Additional requirements include:
