Join a close-knit Health Information Management team where collaboration and teamwork are part of the everyday culture. Our experienced team members are cross-trained to support one another, share responsibilities and provide coverage when needed. You'll join a welcoming department where employees work together, communicate across the hospital and take pride in maintaining accurate, accessible and confidential patient health information.

 

How you'll contribute  

A Data Analyst who excels in this role: 

  • Reviews and processes inpatient discharge records to ensure appropriate documentation is maintained within the electronic medical record.

  • Sorts and organizes inpatient medical record documentation in preparation for scanning.

  • Identifies appropriate documentation and accurately scans records into the Meditech electronic medical record system.

  • Reviews documentation for completeness and proper placement within the patient record.

  • Maintains accuracy, organization and confidentiality when handling protected health information.

  • Assists with incoming department phone calls and provides courteous assistance or routes calls as appropriate.

  • Assists patients, visitors and other walk-in customers presenting to the Health Information Management department.

  • Communicates effectively with HIM team members and other hospital departments regarding medical record needs.

  • Works collaboratively within a cross-trained HIM team, providing coverage and assistance in other areas as needed.

  • Maintains HIPAA standards and protects the confidentiality and security of patient information at all times.

  • Performs other HIM-related duties as assigned.

 

What we're looking for 
Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent, required. Additional requirements include: 

  • Basic computer proficiency required; ability to learn electronic medical record systems.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately organize and process medical record documentation.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently following training while also contributing to a collaborative team environment.

  • Ability to manage repetitive, detail-oriented work while maintaining accuracy and productivity.

  • Previous healthcare, hospital, medical records or HIM experience preferred, but not required.

  • Previous experience with Meditech or an electronic medical record system is a plus.

  • Familiarity with healthcare documentation and medical records is a plus.

 

Schedule: Full-Time - Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm On-site
