At North Alabama Shoals hospital our emergency room (ER) team is staffed 24/7 with emergency physicians, nurses and staff who are trained in providing emergency care. Our team combines advanced training with compassionate service to be ready for you or your family when you need it the most.

How you’ll contribute 

You’ll make an impact by utilizing your specialized plan-of-care intervention and serving as a patient-care innovator. You will shape exceptional patient journeys every day and leverage your skills and our cutting-edge technology to directly impact patient wellbeing.  

Qualifications and requirements
Applicants should have a current state RN license. Additional requirements include: 

  • Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire. 
  • ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.  
  • Requires one to three years of work experience. Greater than 2 years preferred.

      What you will do

      • A Registered Nurse who possesses the clinical skills that allow for appropriate assessment of patient care needs and demonstrates accountability in coordinating age specific patient care. Serves as a clinical resource for staff on their assigned shift or unit. Coordinates patient care and delegates duties and responsibilities to staff and holds individuals accountable for outcomes achieve
      • Job activities are fairly complex and highly diversified but are structured within a predefined work routine. Involves the exercise of judgement in the analysis of facts or conditions regarding patient care or hospital problems to determine what action should be taken within the specifications of standard practice.
      • First line supervisor over a group of employees or a unit. May initiate disciplinary action and provide input into a subordinate’s performance evaluations. Instructs workers in normal operational tasks. Includes department managers of small departments.

      North Alabama Shoals Hospital is a 178-bed general acute care facility boasting spacious, private rooms for all patients, a 24-hour emergency department, medical and oncology services; medical/surgical inpatient units; and intensive care and short-stay surgery units. Shoals also operates the region’s only in-patient acute rehabilitation facility, the J. W. Sommer Rehabilitation Unit, and the Shoals Senior Care Center, the Shoals’ only psychiatric unit dedicated to our senior adults.
