From the beginning of a student's nursing career, Centerpoint's Nurse Externship Program aspires to motivate and assist nursing students to reach their full potential. The program is designed to serve entry level students currently enrolled in an accredited registered nursing program. Nurse Extern's will work side-by-side with a registered nurse mentor providing hands-on quality patient care.

How you'll contribute

A Nurse Extern who excels in this role:

• Works collaboratively with the patient care team.
• Performs direct patient care under the direction, delegation and supervision of a registered nurse.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to supervising RN.
• Maintains positive professional relationship with patients, families, coworkers, and health care team.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a High School Diploma (or equivalent) and be enrolled in an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• Completion of 1^st semester, nursing school.
• 3.0 GPA or higher
