Responsible for collaborating with other healthcare professionals in delivering direct patient care in accordance with the standards and expectations of the organization as supported by the mission, vision, and core values of the organization. The Student Nurse Extern practices under the direct supervision of a Licensed Registered Nurse.

Reports to: Department Director
FLSA: Non-exempt

Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Senior Nursing student from an accredited registered nurse program.
Licenses: None
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS)

Prior experience in Patient Care Area, preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Sedentary Work (Prolonged periods of sitting exerting up to 10 lbs force occasionally)

Standing/Walking Work (Periods of standing and/or walking)

Medium Work (Exert up to 50 lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

May be exposed to respiratory risks and safety sensitive situations.

May be exposed to a variety of healthcare settings, including clinical, office, or maintenance environments.

May be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases.
