The Neurology Neurosurgery Unit is a specialized 22-bed unit dedicated to the treatment and care of patients with neurological conditions. Our patient population includes individuals recovering from strokes, altered mental status, ambulatory dysfunction, Multiple Sclerosis, as well as a multitude of diagnoses with a neurological etiology. Additionally, we provide neurosurgical services to patients in need of interventions, as well as general medicine care for the medical surgical patient's population. Our nursing staff is committed to practicing at the fullest extent of their licenses, ensuring that each patient receives the highest standard of care. Through our dedication to professional excellence, we strive to achieve outstanding patient outcomes and improve the quality of life for those we serve. The unit is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and follows best practices in neurology and neurosurgery care, making it a leader in the field.
How you'll contribute
A Nursing Assistant (NA) who excels in this role:
Participates in Patient Care Team's delivery of personalized, efficient care with respect for patient's spiritual and cultural differences.
Consider factors related to safety, effectiveness and cost in delivery of patient care.
Orients patient and family to room and call bell.
Upon admission, obtain initial vital signs, height and weight.
Records daily I & O, vital signs, and food intake into the electronic medical record.
transport patients via appropriate means in a safe and dignified manner. Adheres to patient activity restrictions.
Establishes positive relationships with patients/families and reports patient/family concerns accurately and concisely to appropriate care team members.

What we're looking for
Applicants should possess High School Diploma or GED.
Completion of Nurse Aide Program or experience in related field or will provide on the job education and training
Basic Life Support or acquire within 3 months of hire
One year of acute care or one-year long-term care experience preferred
Certification preferred
