How you'll contribute 

An OB Tech who excels in this role:

• Prepares surgical operating suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment and supplies.
• Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
• Provides equipment and supplies based on patient needs as well as anticipates needs of surgeon; passes instruments to physician during surgery.
  Practices aseptic technique; follows correct procedure for scrubbing prior to case.
• Continually accounts for number and location of instruments and supplies during surgery.
• Receives and processes specimens for delivery to the laboratory.
• Performs patient registrations; verifies patient graphics and insurance information.
• Enters patient, departmental and supply charges in computer system on all L&D patients prior to discharge as documented on Charge Sheets by the RN.
  Provides clerical/secretarial support to department, i.e., makes up/assembles charts, ensures Physician order forms, progress notes and other forms are on charts.
• Places patient labels as needed, breaks down discharge charts, sorts and files records, and maintains function of fax machine, printers, and copier.
• Maintains established PAR levels and ensures appropriate supply and linen PAR levels are in OR suites and LDRs.

Requirements:

Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) American Hearth Association (AHA) required
Required Skills

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required

License: Graduate of a Program in Surgical Technology preferred
