Rehabilitation Hospital of Rhode Island is a state-of-the-art, inpatient acute rehabilitation hospital dedicated to the treatment and recovery of individuals who have experienced the debilitating effects of a severe injury or illness. Our rehabilitation programs provide ongoing care and specialized treatment to patients throughout their recovery journey. We offer customized, individualized rehabilitation tailored to the specific needs of those recovering from a stroke, brain injury, neurological conditions, trauma, spinal cord injury, amputation, and orthopedic injury.

 

How you'll contribute 

The Occupational Therapist (OT) in an Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospital is responsible for evaluating patients and developing individualized treatment plans to restore function and promote independence in daily activities. This role provides therapeutic interventions focused on improving patients' ability to perform self-care, mobility, and other essential life skills following illness or injury. The OT collaborates closely with an interdisciplinary team, patients, and families to support recovery goals, while ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with regulatory and safety standards. Strong communication, clinical reasoning, and organizational skills are essential to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.

What we're looking for 

Applicants should have 

  • Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program
  • Current license to practice occupational therapy
  • Experience in inpatient rehab preferred
  • Basic Life Support/CPR certification

Rehabilitation Hospital of Rhode Island offers specialized inpatient rehab for patients in the North Smithfield, Rhode Island community. Programs are designed to help patients recover from a variety of injuries and illnesses, including brain, orthopedic and spinal cord injuries, stroke, neurological conditions, trauma and amputation. Our programs center around the individual needs of each patient to improve health, function and quality of life. Acute inpatient rehabilitation facilities differ from other post-acute options, such as skilled nursing facilities, most notably in the amount of quality physical, occupational and speech therapy offered, and medical oversight provided.

 

Hourly range: $55.00 per hour.
