Position Summary:

Provides direct and indirect patient care in the clinic setting. Provides care that reflects initiative, flexibility and responsibility indicative of professional expectation with a minimum of supervision. Determines priorities of care based on physical and psychosocial needs, as well as factors influencing patient flow through the system. Communicates with providers about changes in patient's status, symptomatology and results of diagnostic studies. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Ability to organize, coordinate and evaluate patient information
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to be flexible and function under stressful situations
  • Ability to train and mentor new staff members
  • Perform Urine Drug Screens and DOT Urine Drug Screens
  • Perform Audiology Exams
  • Perform Vision Tests (Snellen and Ishihara Test)
  • Perform PFT’s
  • Perform Mask Fit Tests and Training
  • Perform and Train Donning and Doffing PPE
  • Perform Employee Chart Audits
  • Complete Workers’ Comp Referrals
  • Complete Workers’ Comp Authorizations

EDUCATION

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing

EXPERIENCE 

  • 2 to 3 years medical experience in a physician’s office or equivalent in combination of training or experience preferred
  • Occupational Health experience preferred

CERTIFICATE/LICENSE

  • Current RN License within the state of Iowa
  • Current BCLS certification
