How you’ll contribute 

The Dental Executive Director for Paris Regional Health (PRH) dental residency programs (“Programs”) at the Austin Institute of Dental Medicine (AIDM) is a designee of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and acts on behalf of PRH for the operation of the Programs.

The Dental Executive Director is AIDM’s primary direct representative of PRH regarding the accreditation of the Programs and the day-to-day wellbeing of the dental residents. With the support of the Compliance Coordinator, the Dental Executive Director will develop, implement, operate, and monitor an effective compliance program. The Dental Executive Director has primary responsibility for the oversight of the administrative, accreditation, and non-clinical functions of the Programs at AIDM.

Key Functions:

  • Oversee the administrative, accreditation, and non-clinical functions of the Programs to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, affiliation agreement(s), and standards by agencies including but not limited to the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
  • Advise the CEO on Program status, plans, policies, and changes, and prepare periodic updates and reports to PRH leadership as requested.
  • Manage dental residents for employment-related purposes, including collaborating with Program Directors at AIDM to monitor resident progress in the programs, oversee due process, and administer any disciplinary actions.
  • Facilitate mediation, resolution, and documentation of resident complaints, including coordination with AIDM and PRH Human Resources as appropriate.
  • Design, develop, and implement a comprehensive non-clinical compliance program, including policies, procedures, and an ongoing monitoring system to prevent, detect, and respond appropriately to compliance issues.
  • Supervise the Compliance Coordinator, including documentation of compliance program activities and the use of an electronic database to track compliance requirements and deadlines.
  • Lead ongoing management and improvement of the compliance program, including analysis of the business, accreditation, and regulatory environment, identification of priority areas, and communication with appropriate personnel.
  • Manage communications from internal and external parties related to administrative, accreditation, or compliance issues, including coordination of appropriate response with PRH and AIDM leadership. 
  • Collaborate with AIDM’s marketing team to develop and implement a strategic marketing plan to increase visibility of PRH dental residency

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (MS, MPH, MBA, etc.) in education, administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience leading advanced dental education programs, including participation in the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) accreditation process.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree in Dental Medicine or Dental Surgery (DMD, DDS).
  • Former Program Director of a CODA-accredited advanced dental education program.
  • Experience with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) policies, including compliance, billing, and reporting.
  • Experience supporting executive leadership teams, especially in hospital administration, Graduate Medical Education (GME), and/or compliance programs.
