Position Summary:

Minimum Qualifications:

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate's degree preferred
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assisting program preferred

Certifications

  • Must have one of the following: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire

Performs routine clinical and administrative duties in support of assigned area or office.
Reports to: 
FLSA: Non-exempt
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree in Medical Assistant required. Certificate from a college in Medical Assistant in lieu of Associate's required
License: Certified Medical Assistant Certificate or Registered Medical Assistant required
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association required
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Essential Functions
Under the supervision of physician or nurse, assists with performing patient assessments and treatments.
Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection. Monitors and communicates changes in patient condition. Documents patient care given.
Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting. Maintains examination areas.
Organizes workflow of clinical staff
