Receives calls from physicians and their office staff to coordinate the scheduling for various procedures.  This includes securing accurate and complete data to appropriately schedule cases by meeting the service departments’ protocols for each case.  Validates with the physician or his representative that patient demographic data is current, prior authorization numbers have been secured and diagnosis codes support the medical necessity of the scheduled services.  All other duties as assigned.

Regulatory Requirements:

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Post secondary education in a medical related field preferred.
  • Minimum of one year experience in medical related customer service with strong communication skills required.
  • Medical Terminology, required.
  • Scheduling experience, preferred

Language Skills:

  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Additional languages preferred.

Skills:

  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
