The Central Processing Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the indirect patient care provided by the central processing staff in providing the supplies, instruments, and equipment needed to the Patient Care Units in the facility. The responsibility of reprocessing supplies, instruments, and equipment for use in patient care is within the scope of practice of the Central Processing department. This includes decontamination, inventory, assembling and sterilization hospital wide. A critical attribute required of this position is exceptional interpersonal customer services consisting of an outgoing positive attitude, warm friendly joyful demeanor, and the utmost care and reverence for our guests, patients, families, customers and colleagues.

Salary Range: $16.28 - $19.87

This is a union position.

EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Post high school training and/or specialized education required
  • Minimum three (5) years' in Central Processing Department or equivalent including extensive knowledge of surgical instruments, supplies, decontamination, and sterilization techniques.
  • Previous leadership experience preferred.
  • Must have Central Processing Specialty Certification
