Functions as a member of a multi-disciplinary team to provide 24-hour direct supervision of patients and to implement treatment plans as directed by Charge RN or lead Mental Health Professional (MHP) staff. A critical attribute required of this position is exceptional interpersonal customer services consisting of an outgoing positive attitude, warm friendly joyful demeanor, and the utmost care and respect for our guests, patients, families, customers and colleagues.

Essential Functions

  • Demonstrate knowledge, understanding and use of therapeutic communication skills.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of mental disorders, as they affect the population they serve.
  • Document clinical services.
  • Exhibits teamwork in patient care
  • Act independently, with minimal supervision, utilizing time and resources effectively.
  • Demonstrate professional accountability.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to all ages and cultures served.
  • Work effectively under pressure, prioritizing demands from multiple sources, professionally.

  • Implement measures that provide for the safety of the unit, patients/families and peers.

Qualifications and requirements 

  • Required minimum 90 quarter or 60 semester credit hours.
  • Associate of Arts (AA), Bachelors of Science (BS), Arts (BA) or Social Work (BSW) Degree in social service/behavioral science preferred.
  • Minium one-year mental health experience preferred 
  • Bilingual and/or English Spanish speaking abilities preferred.
  • Ability to work with culturally diverse population. 
  • Must have or apply for a Washington State Agency Affiliated Counselor within 30 (30) days of employment. May work
    as an agency affiliated counselor while the application is processed by the state, or possess current Licensed Mental
    Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHCA), Licensed Marriage and Family
    Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (LMFTA), Licensed Advance Social Worker
    (LASW), Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Social Worker Associate & Advanced
    (LSWAA) as defined by the Washington State Department of Health.
