STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
Assist the physician in providing patient care and business office personnel in administrative and operational matters as directed. As allowed by their licensure, and within their scope of practice, prepares patients and assists during examinations, treatment, procedures, limited surgical support functions and/or diagnostic testing. Perform injections and immunizations as directed. Maintain facility and equipment necessary for patient care. Interacts with pharmaceutical representative and maintains control of drug samples. Order medical supplies and stock exam rooms as needed. Responsible for the medical record remaining current. Report to the physician regarding clinical issues, treatment and diagnostic protocols and is accountable to Clinic Manager/Supervisor regarding operational issues. A critical attribute required of this position is exceptional interpersonal customer services consisting of an outgoing positive attitude, warm friendly joyful demeanor, and the utmost care and reverence for our guests, patients, families, customers and colleagues.

EDUCATION

  1. Education: RN (ADN and/or BSN) Program.
  2. Population Specifics: Knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the ages of patients served in LHN Clinics. 
  3. Experience: Previous experience in a physician’s office or similar setting,
  4. Required Certification: Must have/obtain Registration and current RN license in Washington State, Must have/obtain a current BLS.
  5. Other: Bilingual and/or English-Spanish speaking preferred.  Ability to work with culturally diverse population.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/COMPETENCIES

@R=at risk for exposure to blood borne pathogens

  1. Enhance patient access to LHN services.
  2. Prepare the patient for examinations, procedures and diagnostic testing. @R
  3. Assist physician with examinations, procedures and other processes related to direct patient care. @R
  4. Prepare and maintains accurate medical records.
  5. Provide appropriate review of processes to enhance efficient patient care and safety.
  6. Exhibit team building spirit in relations with co-workers.

NON-ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITES/COMPETENCIES

  1. Maintain professional growth and development.

2.    Participate in hospital/staff meetings as assigned.

3.    Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

LOURDES HEALTH NETWORK REQUIRED RESPONSIBILITIES/COMPETENCIES

  1. Is responsible for becoming knowledgeable and compliant with Department, Hospital, Fire/Safety/Disaster, Educational requirements and Personnel Policies.
  2. Follows the Corporate Compliance Program and maintains confidentiality standard.
  3. Demonstrates support and adherence to the Mission and Values Statement of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet as an agent of Lourdes Health Network.
  4. Participates and supports the Continuous Quality Improvement process and provides optimum customer service.
  5. Is responsible for development and implementation of self-management skills.
