How you'll contribute

A Patient Access Coordinator who excels in this role:

  • Coordinates and engages in the day to day patient activities occurring in the front area of the medical clinic.

  • Receives, screens, and routes visitors and telephone calls. Responds to, escalates, and follows up on inquiries and problems as appropriate.

  • Registers patients, verifies data and assists with completing any and all forms. Obtains and updates demographic, billing and third party coverage information. Explains policies and procedures to patients, families and visitors as needed. Performs these tasks efficiently with careful attention to detail with a minimal error rate.

  • Maintains files and office equipment.

  • Orders and stocks supplies.

  • Schedules appointments in compliance with clinic policies and procedures, confirms appointments and prepares/maintains medical records in compliance with clinic policies and procedures.

  • Oversees the balancing of charges, receipts and end of day.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent. Additional requirements include:

  • Prefer two years clerical experience in a medical clinic.

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
