Additional Information: this is a full-time position that will work with womens services and outpatient patients in a hospital-based facility.

How you'll contribute

A Physical Therapist (PT) who excels in this role evaluates and treats patients per medically prescribed physical therapy plans, which includes designing and implementing individualized programs to restore function, alleviate pain, and prevent disability, providing patient/family education on injury prevention, ergonomics, and rehabilitation, and supervising physical therapist assistants, students, and aides in delivering care. Additional responsibilities include: 

  • Performs initial and ongoing assessments of patient condition and functional status.
  • Develops and updates an individualized plan of care in collaboration with the patient, based on goals and capabilities.
  • Plans, prepares, and carries out evidence-based interventions to maintain, improve, or restore function; alleviate pain; and prevent dysfunction.
  • Delivers therapy using standard PT techniques and modalities appropriate to patient age and condition (e.g., moist heat/cold, ultrasound, UV/IR lamps, therapeutic exercise, manual therapy).
  • Administers physical agents and operates PT equipment safely; performs necessary set-up and checks.
  • Evaluates, fits, and adjusts prosthetic and orthotic devices; recommends modifications as needed.
  • Identifies/document goals, anticipated progress, and timelines; plans for reevaluation and discharge.
  • Directs and supervises PTAs, students, and support personnel; delegates tasks appropriately and ensures clear communication.
  • Accurately documents assessments, interventions, patient response, education, and progress toward goals.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current UT Physical Therapist license and bachelor's degree in physical therapy. Additional requirements include:

  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire.
