Performs various imaging procedures in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.

Essential Functions 

Performs diagnostic procedures in accordance with accepted protocols as directed by the Medical Imaging Medical Director

Provides patient education where appropriate

Instructs patients regarding the procedure to ensure patient cooperation and optimum test results.

Maintains a collaborative relationship among healthcare team by communicating information; responding to request, reviewing information sent via emails, building rapport with team members and participation in team problem-solving method such as briefs and debriefs, patient safety huddles and executive patient safety rounds and routinely participating in departmental meetings.

Work as a team member, supporting others within your chosen modality, the Medial imaging Department, as well as the hospital at large.

Works as an agent of the radiologist, collecting relevant patient information, and assisting with procedures

Correctly and safely uses diagnostic equipment per manufactures instructions. Maintains equipment in good operating condition. Displays the ability to troubleshoot issues with equipment. Obtains repair on equipment where appropriate.

Non-Essential Functions 

Performs other duties as assigned

Must complete all assigned education in a timely manner.

Must complete department specific education.

Attends and participates in staff meetings, in-services, projects and committees as assigned

Adheres to and supports policies and procedures of the STRHS

Works scheduled shift including overtime, when necessary.

Accepts all call scheduled as directed

Maintains a neat and professional appearance in compliance to the existing dress code.

Organizational Expectations 

Actively participates in Foundation Safety Behavior Tools and Tactics such as Briefs, Debriefs, Huddles, Learning Board Activities, Executive Patient Safety Rounds and reporting of unanticipated and unintended patient events regardless of whether there is harm.

Job Requirements 

Minimum Education
Associate Degree preferred in Radiological Technology.

Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Required Skills
Certifications: Basic Life Support -must obtain within 90 days from date of hire.

Licenses: Must be registered by ARRT
