How you'll contribute

A Rehabilitation Technician who excels in this role:

  • Performs accurate, comprehensive patient evaluations and treatments

  • Provides training, direction and guidance for subordinate rehab staff

  • Writes accurate, complete and clear documentation

  • Ensures the timely evaluation and treatment of patients in the most effective and efficient manner possible

  • Oversees risk management operations for the Rehab department in the facility

  • Demonstrates appropriate utilization of resources including billing accurately for services provided

  • Follow patient care tasks as determined by the OTR/RPT to help patients achieve therapy goals.
  • Safely transport patients to and from therapy and other activities.
  • Communicate clearly (verbally and in writing) with members of the rehabilitation team.
  • Observe and recognize patient reactions to treatment; follow instructions accurately.
  • Lift and carry equipment, supplies, and materials up to 50 lbs on a regular basis; use proper body mechanics.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a degree in rehabilitation, healthcare, or a related field. Additional requirements include:

  • 1-3 years of experience in rehabilitation or in a long-term care setting preferred

  • Valid and current Occupational Therapy license or equivalent, in the state of Ohio

  • Current CPR certification required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Effective verbal and written communication; ability to follow directions; patient transport and safe lifting techniques (up to 50 lbs); observation and basic documentation; reliability, teamwork, and time management.
