How you'll contribute 

  • Reports to: Respiratory Market Director

  • Assists respiratory therapists with preparing for and providing patient care.

  • Delivers routine therapy as delegated by a therapist.

  • Responds to codes and calls for emergent assistance. 

  • Assesses patient condition and delivers appropriate treatment.

  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition.

  • Educates the patient and family about the patient's illness and provides information about community support groups and other resources.

  • Monitors, receives, stocks, and distributes respiratory care supplies and medical gas cylinders.

  • Maintains storage areas with required supply levels and equipment.

  • Disassembles, cleans, and sterilizes equipment, and performs preventative maintenance and calibration of machines.

Qualifications and requirements:

  • Licenses: Certified Respiratory Therapist

  • Certifications: (BLS) Basic Life Support required one month from hire/transfer date; (ACLS) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support six months from hire/transfer date; (PALS) Pediatric Advanced Life Support six months from hire/transfer date

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

  • Access to and/or works with sensitive and/or confidential information.

  • Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance (e.g., HIPAA). 

  • Skilled in the application of policies and procedures. 

  • Knowledge of Business Office Standards and Recommended Practices.
