Rutherford Regional Health System includes the following:  Rutherford Regional Medical Center, Rutherford Family Care, Rutherford East Family Care, Forest City Family Care, Chase Family Care, Polk Medical Specialties, Rutherford Orthopedics, Rutherford Urology, Rutherford Children's Care, Premier Women’s Care, The Mammography Place, and Rutherford Surgical Associates.

Primarily focused on outpatient/endoscopy patient throughput. Facilitates all areas of the Outpatient Department. Collaborates with the medical staff and other members of the health care team to provide quality patient care. Performs all activities in accordance with approved policies and guidelines. Supervises and delegates appropriate duties to ancillary personnel.

Essential Functions:

1. Primarily focused on outpatient throughput. Facilitates all areas of the Outpatient operation. High quality patient care. Efficient patient flow in and out of the department, and attainment of patient safety and quality of care.2. Serves as the team lead to ensure efficient operation of the department.3. Serves as a resource and mentor for staff in the clinical area.4. Assumes responsibility for decisions and actions in the lead clinical role5. Assures departmental checks are computed as assigned.6. Leads staff briefs/debriefs on a shift basis. Holds staff huddles as required/needed.7. Acts as a liaison between OP and other hospital departments8. Communicates effectively with staff, peers, internal and external customers9. Adjusts staffing to volumes10. Utilizes quality improvement as basis to improve departmental processes.11. Assists with thorough and complete orientation of all incoming personnel, utilizing the department orientation plan and ensuring all aspects of the orientation process are completed within a timely manner.12. Maintains readiness for regulatory surveys.13. Demonstrates clinical competence to practice within the departments scope of service.14. Communicates effectively with leadership, staff, peers, and physicians15. Completes additional responsibilities as assigned by Dept Director. EX. Staff schedule, audits, supply ordering.16. Other duties as assigned.


Minimum EducationAssociate’s Degree in Nursing requiredBachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
Required SkillsRequires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Certifications:Basic Life Support (BLS)Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 3 months of hirePediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 3 months of hireHandle with care within 3 months of hire
Licenses: Current RN license to practice in NC (NC licensure or multi-state (compact) license).
Minimum Work Experience1-3 years, Recent acute care experience within past 3 years preferred.
