POSITION SUMMARY: 

 

The Senior Compliance Analyst supports Lifepoint Health's Information Security and Privacy program and team in implementing, monitoring, and enforcing the organization's information security and privacy program to ensure compliance with federal and state privacy laws, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), 42 C.F.R. Part 2, and related regulations. This role plays a key role in conducting and supporting investigations, managing privacy incidents, oversight of proactive monitoring, and promoting a culture of confidentiality across all facilities and business lines.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

  1. Incident Management:
    1. Support the intake, investigation, reporting determination, documentation and timely resolution of privacy and HIPAA rights concerns.
    2. Provide system support for facility privacy officers.
    3. Conduct quality assurance reviews of documentation and deliver targeted guidance to support continuous improvement. 
  2. Policy Guidance: 
    1. Provide guidance and training to staff on privacy policies, procedures, and best practices for handling sensitive patient information. 
    2. Monitor policy revision timelines to maintain timely review of policies. 
    3. Develop guidelines and standard operating procedures aligned with organizational policies and regulatory standards. 
  3. Regulatory Monitoring & Risk Assessment:
    1. Monitor regulatory updates and assess their impact.
    2. Support risk assessments and information security and privacy work plans.
  4. Education & Training:
    1. Coordinate privacy and information security related education and training initiatives.
    2. Track participation and assist with communications.
  5. Administration:
    1. Support the facility privacy officer onboarding process.
    2. Monitor assignment, audit and incident completion.
    3. Maintain documentation and dashboards for leadership review.
  6. Collaboration:
    1. Work closely with Privacy leadership and facility privacy officers as well as legal, IT, compliance and clinical departments to ensure a comprehensive approach to privacy.
    2. Support enterprise-wide initiatives aligned with Lifepoint Information Security and Privacy goals and requirements.

 

QUALIFICATION, EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS: 

 

  1. Education: Bachelor's degree (preferred in Healthcare Administration, Healthcare Compliance, Health Information Management or Health Informatics, Legal Studies, or related degree with a concentration in Information Systems/Data Privacy or relevant certifications (e.g. CIPP, CHPC, CHPS).
  2. Experience: Minimum 2-5 years in privacy, information security, compliance, or release or information. Experience conducting privacy investigations and providing privacy guidance within a healthcare setting is preferred.
  3. Skills: 
    1. Strong analytical and data reporting skills. Experience with PowerBI preferred.
    2. Familiarity with healthcare privacy laws and regulatory frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, 42 C.F.R. Part 2).
    3. Knowledgeable in managing release of information requests in compliance with HIPAA and 42 C.F.R. Part 2.
    4. Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
    5. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
