How you'll contribute:
The Senior Director ensures that operations and programing across the outpatient and assessment operate efficiently, compliantly and professionally while providing a high standard of customer satisfaction through collaboration and support with departmental leads. The Senior Director ensures outpatient programs and assessment are compliant with all laws, rules and regulations of federal and state licensing agencies, as well as TJC standards for quality care. The Senior Director monitors patient volumes, admissions and quality of care to identify areas for improvement.
Provides oversight and direction for their departments' performance improvement (PI) program, risk management process, education and training initiatives, and quality initiatives through the creation and implementation of auditing tools, quality improvement plans, policy and procedure, and training curriculum.
Leads and performs screening of potential patients, initiates integrated assessments, and evaluates appropriateness of admission and level of care using approved criteria. Ensures accurate and complete clinical information is gathered and communicated to physicians, nursing, and third party payors to support appropriate treatment planning and transitions of care.
Functions as the central liaison among physicians, families, referral sources, external reviewers, nursing staff, transportation services, and other mental health facilities to organize smooth admissions. Prepares and communicates daily census and referral reports, manages pending admissions, and provides consistent service to referral sources to maintain strong partnerships.
Ensures all admission and assessment activities align with CMS, JCAHO, EMTALA, state regulations, and HIPAA standards. Conducts regular audits for compliance, develops and coaches team members, and holds staff accountable to high performance and service standards.
Designs a system for collection and analysis of performance and quality data for the purpose of identifying risks and opportunities for development, supporting the creation and implementation of quality improvement plans, and the measurement of plans success.
Coordinates annual Performance Improvement Plan and evaluation process, identifying trends and coordinating with appropriate team members to drive change, improving compliance and quality of outpatient services across the platform.
Leads departments in improving results through analyzing audit and mock survey outcomes, identifying processes requiring change to improve performance, resulting in successful accreditation status and licensure surveys.
Establishes and monitors quarterly quality metrics and education initiatives, including educational program development and delivery in alignment with platform trends and strategic development initiatives.
Develops programs to ensure implementation of standards and monitoring of clinical outcomes. Identifies and delivers training opportunities to improve clinical outcomes based off the analysis of identified trends.
Analyzes patient satisfaction data, identifying areas for improvement and leading development and training opportunities to improve patient satisfaction.
Responsible for ensuring that company approved programs are implemented and being provided consistently.
Supports the clinical documentation process through identifying opportunities for more efficient and compliant practices and creating/administering documentation trainings to improve the completion and quality of documentation.
In collaboration with the Business Development Team, actively seeks to identify new potential referral sources and maintains good working relationships with all referral sources.
Supports the continuum of care through conducting disposition analysis and identifying opportunities for improvement/barrier remediation.
Work with directors to identify opportunities to expand programming to meet the community's needs.
Identifies opportunities for enhanced clinical programming, obtaining appropriate approval to implement programs (i.e. trauma), and develop/manage an implementation plan - meeting the communities needs and improving clinical delivery of programming

Qualifications and requirements:
Education: Masters' Degree from an accredited school in social work, marriage and family therapy, psychology, counseling, or related field required.
Experience: 5 years clinical experience required in a psychiatric outpatient and assessment setting preferred.
License: Current, unencumbered clinical or social work license required.
Additional Requirements: CPR certification and De-escalation certification within 30 days.
