Position Summary
The Senior Process Engineer leads enterprise‑level transformation initiatives, ensuring seamless execution of technology implementations, business process redesigns, and operational improvements across the organization. This role requires a versatile, hands‑on leader capable of owning the full project lifecycle, from early scoping and stakeholder engagement through design, deployment, and post‑implementation optimization.
Reporting to the AVP of the Enterprise Transformation Office, this role partners with cross‑functional teams to drive growth, efficiency, compliance, and patient‑centered outcomes in a fast‑paced healthcare environment.
Essential Functions
Project Initiation and Planning
- Lead early phases of large‑scale enterprise implementations
- Conduct needs assessments and gather requirements from stakeholders including hospital administrators, clinicians, and IT teams
- Develop project charters, timelines, resource plans, and success metrics aligned to organizational goals
- Identify risks, dependencies, and mitigation strategies
Design and Development
- Oversee design of new processes and technology solutions, including workflow mapping, solution architecture, and prototyping
- Partner with subject matter experts to ensure solutions align with healthcare best practices, including HIPAA compliance and patient safety standards
- Ensure integration with enterprise platforms such as EHR and supply chain systems
Build and Testing
- Manage build phases with internal development teams, vendors, and consultants
- Lead testing efforts including user acceptance testing (UAT), pilot programs, and iterative refinements prior to full deployment
Implementation Leadership
- Direct deployments across multiple hospitals
- Lead training programs, change management activities, and go‑live support
- Develop rollout strategies that minimize disruption to patient care, such as phased or regional implementations
- Monitor implementation success using KPIs such as adoption rates, downtime, and operational performance
Post‑Implementation and Optimization
- Conduct post‑launch evaluations to assess impact and collect feedback
- Drive continuous improvement through enhancements, audits, and scalability adjustments
- Support long‑term sustainment through training and performance monitoring
Stakeholder Management and Collaboration
- Build strong relationships with clinical staff, executives, and external partners
- Facilitate workshops, rapid improvement events, and cross‑hospital collaboration to ensure alignment and buy‑in
Risk Management and Compliance
- Identify and mitigate risks related to regulatory compliance, budget constraints, and operational execution
- Maintain formal documentation to support audits and reporting requirements
Team Leadership
- Mentor junior members of the Enterprise Transformation Office
- Contribute to a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement
Qualifications, Education, Knowledge, and Skills
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Information Systems, or related field
- Master's degree (MBA, MHA, or similar) preferred
Experience
- 7+ years of experience in project or program management
- Minimum of 3 years in healthcare or large‑scale enterprise environments
- Demonstrated success leading end‑to‑end implementations such as technology rollouts or enterprise process transformations
- Experience supporting multi‑site or system‑wide initiatives
Certifications
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt preferred
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or comparable project management certification preferred
Skills and Competencies
- Strong understanding of healthcare operations, including clinical workflows, regulatory requirements, and technology integration
- Proficiency with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, or Smartsheet
- Familiarity with healthcare technologies such as Epic, Cerner, or cloud‑based platforms
- Consulting skill set, including facilitation, structured problem solving, and data analysis
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present to executive leadership and manage resistance to change
- Data‑driven decision‑making and analytical mindset
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced, matrixed organization
- Comfort shifting between strategic planning and hands‑on execution
