Radiology/Imaging Services unit provides high-quality diagnostic and interventional imaging services, including wide range of medical imaging procedures, including X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, ultrasounds, and other imaging techniques to diagnose and treat various medical conditions. Valuing and ensuring patient care, patient comfort, safety, and adherence to imaging protocols are paramount while collaborating with healthcare professionals, quality control, and the adoption of new technologies while maintaining quality control measures for equipment and processes, adhering to strict safety protocols, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards are key functions. 

How you'll contribute  
A Senior Special Procedure Technician who excels in this role: 

  • Responsible for constant observation of the patient for signs of distress or complications.
  • Assist with cardiopulmonary resuscitation when necessary.
  • Maintains adequate supplies for scheduling of emergency procedures.
  • Positions, transfers and properly immobilizes patients as required.
  • Selects proper technical factors on an individual patient basis.
  • Provides radiation protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards.
  • Maintains professional skills and provides age-specific needs to patients of all ages (neonates, infants, children, adolescents and geriatric).
  • Follows safety procedures and guidelines and reports unsafe practices or conditions.
  • Recommends catheter, guide wires and contrast for special procedure examination.
  • Ability to take on Call for Vascular OR. 
  • Supervises and manages supply orders.
  • Supervises and manages schedule.
  • Troubleshoots problems. 
  • Participates in peer competencies.
  • Monitors all radiographs in the department.
  • Coordinates the quality control procedures on all imaging equipment. 
  • Coordinates OR case coverage and patient flow.
  • Performs data collection for quality measurements and maintains quality control programs.
  • Monitors productivity on a daily basis, communicating need for flex-down to staff and manager in timely fashion.
  • Assists in preparation for any accrediting or regulatory body inspections.
  • Assists with departmental safety rounding.
  • Performs staff competency assessments.
  • Initiates service recovery when appropriate.
  • Assists with annual employee evaluations.
  • Performs rounding throughout department and offsite areas on routine basis.
  • Is available on weekends to serve as administrative resource for all imaging modalities system-wide.
  • Assigns lunch.
  • Provides clinical instruction of students. 
  • Troubleshoots difficult cases.
  • Maintains professional skills and provides age-specific needs to patients of all ages (neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults and geriatrics).
  • Follows safety procedures and guidelines and reports unsafe practices and conditions. 
  • Participates in peer competencies.
  • Able to operate and troubleshoot all Imaging devices, CR and DR.
  • All other responsibilities as assigned in accordance with qualifications.
  • Maintains sufficient inventory in surgical suites and upkeep of the computerized inventory management software.
  • Makes staffing recommendations consistent with productivity goals.

What we're looking for  
Applicants should be a Graduate of an approved School of Radiologic Technology. Additional requirements include: 

  • ARRT Registered
  • ARRT - CV
  • CPR
