Position Summary:
Pharmacy Resident is a licensed pharmacist in an intensive 12-month postgraduate year one (PGY1) pharmacy residency program. The purpose of the pharmacy residency program is to provide clinical services to the patients of the hospital, in addition to accurate, safe, efficient, and pharmaceutical services, either directly or indirectly, through the supervised efforts of supportive staff. At the end of the year, residents are eligible for board certification and eligible for post graduate (PGY2) pharmacy residency training.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Be graduates or candidate for graduation of an Accredited Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited program (or one in process of pursuing accreditation) or a Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Committee (FPGEC) certification from National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP)
  •  Completion of PharmD Candidate; Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Obtain Arizona Pharmacist License within the first 90 days of employment
  • Obtain certification in Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support, PALS, and ACLS within the first 90 days, if not current at hire
