Position Summary:

  • Correctly identifies patients using two forms of identification; transports patients via wheelchair, stretcher or bed to designated sites as requested, including patients with oxygen tanks, intravenous pumps, drips, monitors and other equipment.
  • Assists patients with transfer from or to wheelchair or stretcher.
  • Maintains patient comfort, safety and privacy while transporting patient.
  • Alerts nursing staff as to change in patient condition.
  • Greets and provides information and direction to patients and visitors

Reports to: Senior Director-Nursing


Minimum Work Experience:

One year experience in a hospital setting preferred.

Required Skills Certifications:

Licenses and or Certifications:

Current Kentucky CNA certification with current listing on the Kentucky Board of Nursing Nurse Aide Registry.

Current American Heart Association BLS certification or obtained within 90 days after hire date.

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Complies with all organization policies regarding ethical business practices.

Actively participates in the department performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities.

Language Skills: Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
