Responsible for assuring that medical records are received, identified, scanned, indexed and analyzed according to hospital policy and the Joint Commission/CMS standards.


Minimum EducationHigh School Degree or GED.
Minimum Work Experience• Six (6) months of clerical experience required, hospital experience preferred.
Required SkillsComputer and data entry skills in a business or educational setting strongly preferred.Customer service skills preferred.Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy is preferred.
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.Requires attention to detail. Must be able to maintain confidentiality of all patient records.
Language Skills: Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
