Position Summary:

  • Correctly identifies patients using two forms of identification.
  • Reviews patient history, physician orders and contrast screening form.
  • Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
  • Follows all regulations on receiving and administering radiopharmaceuticals within scope of practice.
  • Completes daily activities and maintains records to ensure compliance with all regulatory standards.
  • Prepares equipment and supplies.
  • Selects appropriate imaging parameters.
  • Properly positions patient, performs imaging procedure(s) and labels images correctly.
  • Processes raw data and formats images, analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.
  • Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
  • Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure.
  • Transmits images to PACs.
  • Completes documentation in the RIS and PACs.
  • Communicates appropriate information to the radiologist.

Reports to: Senior Director-Radiology


Minimum Work Experience:

Experience in hospital setting preferred.

Required Licenses:

Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Nuclear Medicine Technology or registered with the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)

Licensed by the State of Kentucky in the discipline of Nuclear Medicine required.

Required Skills Certifications:

Current American Heart Association BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire date.

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Language Skills: Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
