Position Summary

Provides direct patient care to patients ranging from neonate to geriatrics using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.  Address the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment.  Communicates with surgeon and anesthesiologist continuously and as needed concerning patient condition and receives direction for patient management.  Participates in performance improvement, quality assurance and departmental meetings.

 


Job Requirement

Minimum Work Experience

One (1) year of more RN experience in PACU experience

Required Licenses

Current Registered Nurse Licensure to practice in the state of Kentucky OR a current Registered Nurse licensure with a multistate compact state.

Required Certifications & Skills

  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification or obtain within 90 days after hire date.
  • Current American Heart Association ACLS certification or obtain within 6 months after hire date.
  • Current American Heart Association PALS certification or obtain within 6 months after hire date

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision,  

Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Language Skills:  Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
