Position Summary:

The Occupational Health Technician is responsible for providing drug and alcohol testing and other ancillary services. In addition, a candidate of this position is required to become a TSA agent to support the Transportation Workers Identification Card, (TWIC) Federal office as well as process and collect information for the Federal Government enrollment process. The critical attribute required of this position is exceptional interpersonal customer services consisting of an outgoing positive attitude, warm friendly joyful demeanor, and the utmost’s care and respect for our guest; patients, families, customers, and colleagues.

Minimum Qualifications:

Job Requirements- Minimum Education High School or equivalent required. Required Skills- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Bilingual and/or English-Spanish speaking preferred. Ability to work with culturally diverse population. Certifications: X Basic Life Support (BLS) Licenses: DATIA Certified Professional Collector, and Lifeloc Certified Breath Alcohol Technician or certified in twelve (12) months after hire date. Minimum Work Experience Two (2) or more years’ experience in Drug testing or as a medical technician desired, knowledge of drug screening rules and regulations desirable. Preferred knowledge of Occupation Health or related field. Essential Functions 1. Perform Drug Screens both in clinic and on-site settings. 2. Perform Breath and Alcohol Test in clinic and on-site settings. 3. Demonstrate competency in department specific technical skills 4. Maintain required certification 5. Prepare the patient for examinations, procedures, and diagnostic testing. 6. Stock and Clean examination rooms. 7. Maintain inventory of supplies. 8. Prepare and maintain accurate medical records. 9. Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the population specific needs of the patients served. Nonessential Functions Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
