How you'll contribute
A Sonographer who excels in this role:
-Receives patients, explains method of procedure and makes sure patient is comfortable.
-Provides patient services to all ages using imaging modalities.
-Operates ultrasound equipment to perform clinical diagnostic ultrasound exams and routine invasive procedures according to established standards and practices.
-Maintains equipment and supplies and organizes work area.
-Keeps accurate records, helps with scheduling of the ultrasound and keeps patient flow smooth.
-Checks the physician's requisition for complete information on the procedure requested & refers any questions to the ultrasound physician before performing the procedure.
-Assists the radiologist/referring physician in invasive procedures using sterile technique while maintaining infection control guidelines.
-Recognizes the significance of all structures that are visualized on the monitor and be able to differentiate artifacts from anatomic/pathologic structures within equipment limitations.
-Possesses an in-depth knowledge of anatomy/physiology, technical expertise and able to improve standard procedures to enhance diagnostic results when needed.

What we're looking for -
Applicants must have an associate's degree and be a graduate of approved program of Ultrasound/Sonography or equivalent
- ARDMS Registered or if new graduate, must be ARDMS eligible and pass a test in at least one area (i.e. Abdomen, OBGYN) including physics within one year of employment
- Basic Life Support certification is required within 7 days of hire.
- State license to practice as a Sonographer.
- OBGYN experience required
