The Phlebotomist serves patients by identifying the best method for retrieving blood and other specimens from patients.  The Phlebotomist prepares specimens for laboratory testing and performs screening procedures.  Additionally, the Phlebotomist is responsible for ensuring proper tracking and transport of all specimens.   The Phlebotomist is expected to demonstrate error free work and knowledge of standard procedures, techniques and common practices.

  • Greet patients warmly and professionally at all times during interaction
  • Performs blood collection procedures and related tasks
  • Verifies specimen order requirements and identifying information prior to specimen collection
  • Follows venipuncture procedures and displays knowledge of standard procedures, techniques and common practice areas
  • Labels all specimens collected and delivers/transports them to the appropriate processing area

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary/Hourly: $ 15.74-40.00

Rainier Springs Summary of Benefits

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Phlebotomy certification/licensure is required in Washington, California, Louisiana, and Nevada. Phlebotomy certification is preferred in all other states where not requried by State or Federal regulation.
  • CPR and CPI certified within 30 days of employment. In Washington only: Must also have AIDS training, verification, and statements that of good physical and mental health.
Experience:
  • Prior Phlebotomy experience preferred
