How you'll contribute
A Vascular Sonographer who excels in this role:
Receives patients, explains method of procedure and makes sure patient is comfortable.
Provides patient services to all ages using imaging modalities.
Operates ultrasound equipment to perform clinical diagnostic ultrasound exams and routine invasive procedures according to established standards and practices.
Maintains equipment and supplies and organizes work area.
Keeps accurate records, helps with scheduling of the ultrasound and keeps patient flow smooth.
Checks the physician's requisition for complete information on the procedure requested' refers any questions to the ultrasound physician before performing the procedure.
Assists the radiologist/referring physician in invasive procedures using sterile technique while maintaining infection control guidelines.
Recognizes the significance of all structures that are visualized on the monitor and be able to differentiate artifacts from anatomic/pathologic structures within equipment limitations.
Possesses an in-depth knowledge of anatomy/physiology, technical expertise and able to improve standard procedures to enhance diagnostic results when needed.

What we're looking for
Applicants should have an associate degree in ultrasound/sonography or equivalent and a New Mexico license to practice as a vascular sonographer. Additional requirements include:
Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS)
License: ARDMS Registered as an RVT.
