Description

As a Peer Recovery Specialist, you will:

  • Offer individualized, guidance, coaching, and support to patients, fostering a sense of hope and empowerment. 
  • Assist Patients in developing recovery goals, plans, and strategies, and help them implement those plans.
  • Encourage and support patients in engaging in activities that promote wellness and recovery, such as attending support groups, engaging in leisure activities, and building social connections.
  • Help patients access and navigate community resources, including healthcare providers, social services, and support groups.
  • Share personal stories of recovery to build trust and inspire hope in others.
  • Conduct recovery/support groups.
  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions and progress.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Counselor-In-Training Certification are preferred
  • CORE Peer Recovery Specialist preferred
  • 2 years of abstinence-based recovery
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills. 
  • Ability to advocate for patients' rights and needs. 
  • Ability to connect with patients on a personal level and provide empathetic support. 
  • Understanding and respect for diverse cultures and backgrounds. 
  • Ability to manage time effectively and organize tasks. 
  • Understanding and adherence to confidentiality guidelines and HIPAA.
