Position Summary:

The Director of Behavioral Health is responsible for ensuring that standards, policies, and procedures for the delivery of age-appropriate, culturally aware, and recovery-focused mental health care are consistently and safely executed across service areas. This position collaborates with other staff, leadership, and medical staff to achieve organizational goals; regulatory compliance; customer, physician, and staff satisfaction; quality client care outcomes; service line effectiveness; and fiscal efficiencies, serves as liaison to facility LME and the mental health community to ensure economy of resources and continuity of care for clientele and plans for service line growth.  

1. Develop and coordinate Behavioral Health programs.
2. Develops a system of care that is responsive to customer needs and expectations
3. Facilitates resolution to patient, family, co-workers, and physician complaints.
4. Functions as a liaison between hospital Administration, medical staff, other departments, and the mental health community to achieve facility goals.
5. Assures all Behavioral Health services comply with Regulatory standards.
6. Accountable for hiring qualified and competent staff to budget and staffing patterns.
7. Ensures an environment of teamwork and collaboration.
8. Serves as the local expert in Behavioral Health services.
9. Determines and implements opportunities for service line growth, expansion, and efficiencies, and collaborates with Senior Leadership to grow the business.
10. Manages, coordinates, and directs the day-to-day activities of the department.
11. Administers large projects, develops policies, processes, and procedures, and ensures compliance.

Minimum Education
Master's degree is Required
- Psychology, Social Work, Health Care Administration, or other related degree

- Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Health Care Administration or other related degree
- Minimum 5 Years of experience providing Behavioral Healthcare Services
OR
- BSN-prepared RN with a Minimum of 5 Years of experience providing Behavioral Healthcare services
- Minimum 5 Years of Management experience
Required Licenses
- BLS
- Handle with Care within 3 months of hire
